Terms of Use

What fabullage does with the drawings you drop on it.

Private beta. These terms govern access to fabullage during its beta phase. The version above is recorded when you explicitly accept it.

1. What fabullage is

fabullage balloons dimensioned technical drawings. You drop a PDF, every characteristic on it is numbered on the drawing itself, and you download two deliverables: the ballooned sheet an inspector prints, and the inspection workbook (XLSX or CSV) they type measurements into. fabullage reads a drawing; it does not build a CAD model and it returns no STEP file.

It is operated by Faber AI, a French société par actions simplifiée (SAS), registered with the Paris Trade and Companies Register under number 103 155 172, with its registered office at 231 rue Saint-Honoré, 75001 Paris, France ("we", "us").

2. Your account

Signing in is through Google or Microsoft. We receive the verified email address, the name and the account identifier that identity provider gives us, and use them to identify you, to count your runs and to contact you about the service. We also record which version of these terms you accepted, and when.

One Faber account covers everything Faber makes: the account and the credit balance you use here are the same ones you use on Faber, our CAD product, and a run on either spends from that balance. A beta account has a limited number of credits. We may change that limit, and we may suspend or close an account that is being used to attack the service or to work around the limit.

3. Your drawings, and where they go

When you drop a drawing, it:

• is uploaded to our servers in France (Microsoft Azure, France Central), where the run happens;
• has its text, and images of the parts of a page that are not text, sent to Google, whose Gemini models produce the reading — reading your drawing is what the service does. Google processes that data as our model provider, under its own terms;
• is stored with your account, together with the ballooned sheet and the inspection workbook produced from it;
• is kept while you use the project and purged 90 days after it was last opened. You may delete a project, and everything produced from it, at any time.

We do not use your drawings to train models, ours or anyone else's. We do not sell them and we do not make them available for advertising or prospecting.

A full record of a run — the images the model was shown and the steps it took — is kept only for Faber's own accounts (@faber.ai), where it is how we debug the product. For every other account only measurements leave the machine: counts and timings, with none of the drawing's content in them.

The same terms apply to the fabullage desktop application, with one difference in where the file sits: your drawings stay on your machine, and only what the model has to see — the page's text and image crops of it — is sent through our servers to the model.

4. Your files

You confirm that you have the right to upload the drawings you submit; a drawing is often a customer's part, and holding that right is yours to check. You retain ownership of your drawings and of the ballooned sheet and inspection workbook we return. You grant Faber a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store and process those files for as long as we hold them, for the sole purpose of running the service for you and of securing and supporting it.

5. Availability and liability

The service is provided as is, with no warranty of availability, accuracy or fitness for any purpose. A beta service may be interrupted, changed or withdrawn without notice, and a run may fail.

A ballooned sheet and an inspection workbook are a proposal, not an inspection. fabullage reports what a drawing states and flags what it cannot read, and a report that looks complete can still be wrong. Every characteristic, tolerance and unit in it is to be checked by a competent person before anything is measured against it or accepted on it.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, and in particular not for the cost of parts accepted or rejected on the strength of a report you did not verify. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

6. Changes, and the law

We may update these terms. The version string on this page changes with them, and your account records the version you accepted. We will require an explicit acceptance of a new version before access resumes.

These terms are governed by French law. Any dispute will be submitted to the courts having jurisdiction under applicable law.
